Rain and Snow? Meet your home organization match.

Baby, It is cold outside and messy inside.

Winter is the time of year where everything is wet, from snow, hail, rain, and mud. Let’s be real… during these colder months your mudroom/entry way works overtime. The layers of heavy coats, jackets, boots, and mittens pile up quickly, creating major chaos. So, here are our top 3 tricks to reduce the madness with some proper mudroom organization.

Step 1: Dedicate a landing zone

The term “mudroom” is loose around here because not all of us have a mudroom. Maybe your ‘landing zone’ is your laundry room, a small entrance way, a garage wall, or a coat closet. Whatever your situation is, all of these are capable of doing the job.

The key here is it needs to be convenient with your needs in mind. While some houses need room for hockey bags, others need room for work boots. By building a custom system that holds exactly what your family needs, your mudroom can change the way you live (and how often you have to clean!).

Step 2: Hooks, Hooks, & More Hooks

What is small and can create the largest impact in your mudroom? HOOKS!

These are useful for hanging purses, backpacks, coats, sweaters, scarves, or keys. If you are looking to get hooked by adding hooks to your home, give us a call and we are happy to help you get started!

Step 3: Add a bench with some shelves

In a well-organized mudroom, a bench can be much more than just a seat. Along with helping you pull of those dirty boots, it can be a place to stow shoes away. We love adding cubbies and shelves underneath to maintain mudroom functionality and organization!
